Cosmo came to my family one year ago after being dropped off at Colorado
Humane Society at 8 weeks old and spending 3 months there. Who was going to
adopt a deaf American Pit Bull Terrier mix? I saw him and I just had to
foster him! Well, I grew quite attached, and my other dog took to him as
well, so here he stayed. He was a quick study. He was house trained in 4
weeks and learned hand signals for sit, lay down, off, and no just as
quickly. He wasn't comfortable with strangers, but after a few times of
following his big sister's boisterous lead (and bad manners) he was jumping
up on people with the best of them! His ears flop every which way and his
white fur is so soft that kids and adults are drawn to him. He is a natural
at helping me educate people on deaf dogs and breed discrimination. He
drags 'his' blanket around the house and hogs the bed. Cosmo doesn't think
that there is anything wrong with him, and neither do I. |
