All we know about our little girl is that she is two. Her original owner kept her in a garage, and a young woman insisted upon taking her. Then we know the young woman's husband hated her and she wound up with her mother who couldn't keep her in an apartment as she already had a dog. Thus the Alabama Scottie/Westie Rescue group took her in and we got her the next day. She had not been vet-checked, but our wonderful vet pronounced her completely healthy and adorable. Our same vet discouraged us from adopting Fergus with a bad heart condition, but had no qualms about a healthy deaf dog.

She has clearly demonstrated that she has been abused and fears being hit in the face, but we notice each day that her fears diminish a little.

We have tried sign language, but haven't been assiduous in training as she is so good about communicating her needs to us, for example when she's hungry she sits in front of the pantry where the Iams is stored, picks up the water bowl if it gets empty, and we have a dog door so she can easily go and come for her outdoor needs. It did take her three weeks to learn to use the dog door, but Fergus was a good trainer!

We find her to be not only adorable, but extremely bright and precocious. Our prayer is that the safety and love in our home will make her forget anything bad that happened before she came to us.
